Tribune: What are the lessons you learned from your time in prison ? Biram Ould Abeid
: I understand that we must first continue my struggle with courage and selflessness, then can the authorities of my country, my friends and I were the subject of a conspiracy and finally prove to the national and international opinion that slavery exists in Mauritania.
The Tribune: How did you receive your release?
BOA: People have said we are pardoned, and we say that it is the authorities who were pardoned themselves. They knew they were on the wrong track and they were disturbed by the support that we were made by national politicians and international organizations for human rights.
Tribune: Less than two weeks after your release, you just dig up a suspected slavery of a minor. Is it to say that your struggle continued during your incarceration?
BOA: (Laughs)! Our struggle continues and will continue until the total eradication of slavery and the obliteration of its aftermath. Since our cell, we continue the fight and out of the IRA activists were conducting their mission. The struggle continues and we never drop our arms as slavery exists.
