What Color Shutters Should I Get

Joseph Delaney Spook's apprentice

At first glance this series had nothing to draw me: bloodthirsty witches, ghosts, demons, cemeteries, the Sabbaths in the moonlight, the whole panoply of horror Gothic cheap, and warnings to the title of the 4th coverage: "Warning! History not to read at night ... .

And besides, I have long left on the shelves of department libraries youth.
Whether in movies, books or galas, be afraid to scare never been my cup of tea.
But once came in through idleness and curiosity one day I was seduced, and I found that I had no fear, and not just because I'm an adult, filsainé and girly read, and evening including, without feeling anxiety.

So it's about what, where it is?
uh
in England, a kind of medieval vague and timeless.
And there are real witches, they have strong powers, but some are benevolent witches, as the mother of our young hero, and against evil men rise, knowledge and methods exist to combat evil. With silver chains, pits, coffins, sticks. These men are the Spook.
Their job is hard, poorly recognized, the Church often judged as poorly as they fight enemies and yet it is only effective against the dark forces of progress. Some are almost
predestined to rise in defense of property, This is the seventh son of seventh son, as our hero, who becomes apprentice to the Spook County.
Her life will be hectic, threatened many times, not only his life, his soul too, it will show a constant courage, wisdom, too. It is going to experience fear, cold, pain, love.
The fight against evil never end, one can imagine that the series will never end ...
His qualities?
a neat, elegant and sober, which many authors of adult literature should build (and no I will not mention names)
intrigues exciting, unpredictable, suspense that keeps breath throughout the books, characters, subtle and profound, a universe half familiar, half-alien but perfectly logical.

His faults?
I do not see. Certainly no sense of humor, but I think it would not, anyway, flashes of humor in these novels, of which only the seriousness and intelligence with which they are built just save the ridiculous should have stories where witches pursue you with scissors. (Among others)
